| W/S. To-G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Sp{Mr Spinney}-Ws. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 304 E.8/HP.13.11.36. re Phantom III Coachwork. Referring to your memo C.10/C.12.11.36, my remarks concerning accessories were meant to imply that where there is a choice of two accessories equally good in all respects except weight the lighter one should be recommended, and that accessory makers might be encouraged as far as possible to reduce weight. The tendency for the customer to pack on in many cases as many accessories as possible is appreciated, and this is unfortunately encouraged we believe by the break-off which outside agents receive on such fittings. We understand from Mr Ward that owing to the use of the extra ironing that we recommend on Phantom III he has been able to carry out further lightening in the body frame work, which to some extent compensates on the weight.
