Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Attention of Mr. Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming Mr. Paull's telephonic conversation with you this afternoon, arrangements are being made to despatch to you immediately 4 - 33x6.75 outer covers suitable for the 40/50 Rolls-Royce Car.

These covers, you will see, are of a special tread design adapted to deal with the matter of noise in what we feel will be a satisfactory manner.

Mr. Paull would be very glad if after you have got these tyres into test, you would let him have your views, and we would also like an opportunity of inspecting the tyres from time to time to observe the manner in which the treads are wearing. We have no doubt that they will be quite good in this respect, but we have not actually tested them out, as in view of the urgency of the matter of noise, we thought it better to let you have the tyres immediately. The tests which you will make will, of course, coincide with those which we are making ourselves.

Assuming that the tyres of this kind are approved, we shall be in a position to make them for your requirements, but of course, it would assist us if at the very earliest moment we could be advised as to what your requirements are likely to be over a period, as this will determine the extent of the special manufacturing arrangements, plant, etc., which have to be made.

Yours faithfully,
for THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO.LTD.,
W. Bond.
Technical Director's Office.
