COPY. BJ from C. C4/C8.9.28 20 h.p. TYRES. ------------- With reference to the attached, the position in regard to 20 h.p. balloon tyres is that they have been passed for standardisation and it is a question as to when we can introduce them. The size will be 32 x 6 with 20" diameter rims. The Works are going into the matter with a view to ascertaining when we can introduce this tyre and avoid any undue scrap as of course wheels of the present standard have been manufactured for some little time ahead. There is also a question of making certain modifications to the rear wheel carrier, luggage grid and petrol tank. Manufacture of the present type of wheel has been stopped in the meantime. Dunlops Manager informed me on Thursday that they have already given instructions for the moulds to be put in hand for this size of tyre with the silent tread. We are urging the matter forward with all possible speed as Sales are very anxious to get these balloon tyres with the silent tread. C. | ||
