Please receive herewith :- E.CD.1243 Stiffened Tappet Covers. B.60. Owing to the difficulty in making an oil tight joint with the original pressed steel tappet doors, we have made the following alterations to the pressings with a view to stiffening them sufficiently to enable a joint to be made :- (1). The depth of the pressing is increased by .125". (2). The material thickness is increased from .048 to .064". (3). The shape of the contact radius on flange is modified. We have also increased the thickness of the cork joint washer from .125 to .1562 when compressed; this washer should be made in good quality agglomerated cork. Will you please detail and instruct experimentally. A design has also been made of a die cast aluminium cover E.CD.1250 as an alternative. It is not proposed to detail this unless the stiffened pressed steel covers prove to be unsatisfactory. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
