1030 706 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/JH.25.9.40. re Myth Lockheed Hydraulic Brakes. Many thanks for Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/ML.21.9.40. The figures quoted for the Myth hydraulic brakes in Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/JH.13.9.40. assume a line pressure of 915 lbs.sq.in. The pedal pressure can be anything one likes within limits, using a 1" diameter master cylinder and also using the whole of the 1" stroke, the pedal pressure will be 160 lbs. We do not contemplate using the whole of this stroke although in the original project by Lockheed the pedal pressure of 156 lbs. has been quoted. We have the impression that we shall have a pedal pressure of 120 lbs. to lock the wheels and a master cylinder stroke of .750 in which case the pedal stroke will be 4 1/2".
