RADIATOR CORROSION.

With reference to C19/C28.2.30.

The test using Ethylene Glycol merely consists of running a car about with this substance mixed with water in the cooling system.

The quantities we recommend are two gallons Ethylene Glycol and five and a half gallons of water.

We think that it is most improbable that any trouble will be experienced as this is the standard mixture now used in all R.A.F. machines having water cooled engines. It gives immunity from freezing down to somewhere below zero.

Particulars of where you can obtain Ethylene Glycol are inserted on the Depot sheet circulated on the subject. If you cannot get any we have a supply here.

Ethylene Glycol and water should be mixed before inserting in the cooling system and a label should be attached to the drain tap so that Ethylene Glycol should not inadvertently be run away.
