(Below) The drop-away bonnet considerably increases the forward visibility, and is especially valuable for manoeuvring in confined spaces. IIIA-42802 (Left) Of similar lines to the saloon, this cabriolet affords an effective compromise between the open and fully closed types. (Below) A touring model, giving full opening, is included in the range of cars to be produced. LAST week Hitler laid the foundation stone of the new factory where the "People's Car" (to be known as the K.D.F.) is to be made. It will have a 1-litre engine, and streamlined bodywork, the whole job having been conceived by Dr. Porsche, the famous designer and creator of the Auto Union racers. (Other details appear on page 843.) Hitler, who is planning finance schemes to help the workers buy these cars, has also foreseen the need for garage accommodation. Accordingly representatives have been to this country to inspect the big garages of London and the provinces to see how we meet garage demands. IIIA 42803 B22 | ||
