LONDON.W.1.

My dear Halford,

We are hoping soon to be able to ask you to come up to Derby and go out on a car fitted with automatic tappets similar to your design. We have been quietly pursuing this matter and are satisfied with the results we have obtained on a single [2 is struck out] cyl. unit. We are now fitting up a complete car.

I believe it has been arranged that we should visit D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Napier & Sons Ltd., sometime next week. I do not know whether this will interest you, but if you happen to be about we should be very glad to have a talk.

Yours faithfully,

For Rolls-Royce Ltd.
