re. INSULATION OF BODIES FROM DASHBOARD.

With reference to your BJ6/H12.7.23 (copy attached for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) I have during the last two or three days been in consultation with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} with regard to this matter.

I am anxious you should realise that this matter has been receiving attention for some time, but the difficulty has been for us to carry out these experiments on the cars which have this trouble and which must be used for Trials purposes, or cars which belong to customers.

The question of the insulation of bodies from the dashboard is now receiving the urgent and serious consideration of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} experimentally. Vibrations and their effect on the complete car by the method of fixing the body, scuttle, instrument board etc. have to a certain extent been demonstrated on certain experimental cars, and I understand from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that various suggestions and experiments are now in hand.

I have no doubt in view of your memo BJ6/H12.7.23, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will see that a report on the progress of this work is made out as soon as possible.
