Starting Handle
W. III

Referring to E/PGW.1/M.28.4.37 I meant to have discussed this matter yesterday but we did not have an opportunity.

We of course agree that the starting handles at present are unnecessarily expensive.

Re P.III we note you have instructed a handle as per Figure 6 and we think that you also ought to instruct the further scheme as per Figure 7.

Re Wraith, we note you have instructed the handle as per Figure 2. We do not think that we ought to go for the solid handle as per Figure 3 because of the weight increase and the very small price decrease.

We also doubt if we ought to go to a pin at the end instead of dogs as the former looks so cheap and I gather that the new form of construction will enable considerable costs to be knocked off the present type dogs.

We think for the Wraith that we also ought to instruct a handle to operate outside the bumper.

Re Bentley, we agree that whatever is adopted for Wraith III will apply to Bentley III.

We agree that the trap on the P.III and Wraith can be the same but we should like to make a difference for the Bentley.

Will the Experimental Dept. please arrange to show me the samples when I at Derby as soon as they are available.
