To Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} c.c. RV. X4617P EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T15.10.26. 40/50 HP. CHASSIS - P & R BATTERIES. Reference your Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 1/EE13.10.26, we confirm that the height of the cell cases of the P & R battery has always been different from that of the Exide, and there has never been complete interchangeability in that sense. Though, however, it is the case that ~~such~~ cells in an Exide battery cannot suitably be replaced by P & R cells, it is quite possible suitably to replace P & R ^cells in P & R batteries with Exide cells by inserting the necessary packing under the cell case. This makes quite a nice finished job and in view of the fact that the Exide service is more widespread than P & R, this happens to be the right way round. EFC. {E.
