To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re 6-B-IV. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E7.11.35

Thanks for Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}19/KW.6.11.35. I am, however, a little concerned about one or two points and should be glad if you would telephone me on the call to-morrow.

(unit) I notice in particular that it says that the engine will be the big final big bore engine which will include the latest valve gear, and what I am wondering is what it is that we have tested in France and tested to put into production as distinct from what you now refer to.

The same remarks apply to one or two other items, i.e. in what way do they differ from what we have tested and passed and propose to produce, bearing in mind that one does not want to go into production with something that has not been tested and passed, or on the other hand something that is going to be immediately superceded.

I should be glad if you would look through the items from the above point of view.

In comparing your memo. with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KW.22.5.35 I notice that one or two items do not now appear, for instance, 20/25 crankcase, but I believe I am correct in assuming that B-56-BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} had this and that the big bore production will have it.
