Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited, DERBY. Dear Robotham, After my car had covered approximately 20,000 miles, my brake drums were so badly scored that Cricklewood replaced the drums and liners. Since this was done the car has covered 1,000 miles and I have noticed that my brakes were not more than perhaps seventy percent as efficient as they were up to the time of their relining. When the car was returned from Cricklewood, I noticed that the brakes were pulling to the right, so I decided to drive the car for a while to bed in the brakes and then have them recompensated. This small job was carried out by my own mechanic since when, I have experienced, when braking quickly, a certain amount of front wheel wobble and I have now had the brake drums withdrawn for further examination. Although the car has only covered a matter of 1000 miles since the new brake drums and liners were fitted, there is a slight score on each of the drums. continued............ | ||
