| PAGE TWO. As regards the outside handles, we think Mr. Thompson would be well advised to take the new standard scheme for which there is no extra charge. The centrally controlled Silent-bloc lock we now fit is a better mechanical job than the arrangement on Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car and allows for a certain amount of movement of the luggage locker lid{A. J. Lidsey} in relation to the locker itself without rattles developing. As regards the road springs, on the 8th instant I advised BY/Cgh.{W Clough} that in the light of information he had furnished we should make no extra charge for these. It is noted that our quotations for fitting the foglamp and for the longer steering column have been accepted. We shall omit the draughtless ventilation scheme from the front doors, but would like to mention that it costs us more than £15-0-0, which is a special figure authorised by the Administration because we do not want to too strongly discourage customers from having it. We will also omit the metal front floorboards and special wings and running boards. In connection with the latter we would mention that there are already several sets being used on the road, so that really there is very little incentive for Park Wards to supply any more without extra charge. The extra charge for doping the scuttle and front door panels only would be £3-0-0. Please say if it is to be done. YES I will endeavour to arrange for the car to have the lighter pattern front seats, as fitted experimentally in 4-B-lV. without extra charge. The driving cushion will be of the standard length. The vizors will be of the standard flap pattern. In conclusion I would add that we regret it should have been necessary to quote extra for the many special items, but you know yourself the effect of modifying a standard product and how costs jump up when modifications are made. In this particular instance the job has been treated as a special one and the quotations for the extras consequently | ||
