S/W. Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}2/I/13-12-34. B-10-DG. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} THOMPSON ESQ. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/KW.10-12-34. The Order Form Mr. Thompson signed covered the Standard car only and made no reference to the non-standard features. On the 8th ult. Bly{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales} wrote him as per copy of letter attached, from which you will see that he quoted him - A.{Mr Adams} £15-0-0 for arranging the lid{A. J. Lidsey} of the luggage container to form an auxiliary luggage grid; B. £4-10-0 for well in off-side wing; C. £6-10-0 for the built-in luggage container; and clearly indicated there would be an extra charge for the outside filler to the petrol tank. The three items for which Bly.{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales} definitely quoted total £26-0-0. In our Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}3/I/4-12-34 we quoted £16-2-6 for the auxiliary luggage grid: £9-8-6 for a side wheel carrier and its well: and £6-10-0 for the built-in number plate - a total of £32-1-0, or £6-1-0 more than Bly.{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales} quoted Mr. Thompson. Our figure of £16-2-6 for the luggage grid included an item of £1-2-6 for a pair of handles to the inner flap, which are on Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car but which were not mentioned by Bly.{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales} to Mr. Thompson. Our item of £9-8-6 included £4-18-6 for the side wheel carrier which we have just decided is to be charged as an extra in future. In the case of Mr. Thompson we are prepared to stick to Bly{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales}'s quotations and to wash out the item of £1-2-6 for the handles to the dust flap and the charge of £4-18-6 for the side wheel carrier. But we feel that Mr. Thompson ought to pay the extra charge of £5-9-0 for the outside filler to the petrol tank because Bly{B. W. Bleaney - Bentley Sales}'s letter to him of the 8th ult. clearly indicated that a charge would be made. | ||
