Referring to Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les.6/KW.25.1.34 relative to the alteration made to the amount of damping on the front of 104-MY, I have now tried it and both Kennett and I are of the opinion that there is rather more movement and joggle on the steering than there was before. In fact we rather liked it best as it was. I asked Cx. {Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} to try it and, although he says he cannot exactly remember what it was like before, he puts forward the view that there is definitely more movement of the steering wheel - a kind of persistent joggle which he does not remember when he tried the car previously. I had not told him what I had thought about it. With regard to 22-EX and comparing it with 104-MY I am assuming that Les. {Ivan A. Leslie} has in mind that my car has the low rating front springs. One would imagine that they demand a greater amount of damping than a similar type of car with the standard springs or the Continental type. I note that, until further experience has been gained, you are not in favour of reducing the front damper loads on production cars, which I assume are going to be the same as my car originally was.
