management, but I dread to think what will happen when the next deep depression arises.

I especially would be grateful for all you could do for Coverley because he does not get many opportunities of getting about and as he will be travelling on his own any help you can give him will be very much appreciated.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and Lr.{Mr Ellor} will be coming out early in January and will bring with them a Bentley car. I do not know whether you remember Lr.{Mr Ellor} (Mr. Ellor) - he is one of our really bright technical people. He had his training at the R.A.E. Farnborough, but in case this prejudices you, he had the sense to get out. I am sure you will appreciate him.

We have got it established now that the Experimental Department will pay an annual visit to U.S.A. and therefore I am looking forward that perhaps next year I may have the joy of paying another visit.

As regards Seaholme's proposals to swop' the Bentley for a Cadillac I cannot give you the answer at the moment because to our adminstration it seems terrible to suggest exchanging one of our very latest cars. I do not wish you to say anything about this to Seaholme because I am sure we can arrange it in time when the decision has to be made.

You will be interested to hear that R.R. Incorporated have now taken all their left-hand chassis except two and are asking for more. Inskip appears to be keeping the place going, how he does it goodness only knows. We have however at the moment no programme or facilities for producing left-hand cars.

We have been unfortunate this year in the fact that apart from losing Sir Henry Royce, Sidgreaves was away four or five months with a nervous breakdown. He has now returned however and appears perfectly fit.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will be able to let you know all the news from Derby and our developments and worries.

With very kind regards to Mrs. Olley.

I remain,
Yours sincerely,
