x7960. W/S. C. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/KT. 6.10.32. Vincent Bendix is likely to be in London for a week in the immediate future, probably next week. I met him in America. He controls the following Co's and after Henry Ford is probably one of the wealthiest men in the industry. Bendix Aviation Corporation. Chicago. New York. Bendix Mechanical Brakes. Bendix Drive. Bendix Clutch Control. Bendix Startix. B.K. Vacuum Brake Boosters. Automatic Choke Control. Cowdrey Brake Testers. Scintilla Magnetos. Stromberg Carburetters. Bendix-Westinghouse Air Brake Systems. Lockheed Hydraulic Brakes - and other equipment. His company over here is run by Mr.Herbert Clark, Bendix-Perrot Brakes Ltd, Kings Road, Tyseley, B'ham. - who is at present working with us on automatic clutch control, and aero carburetters. Mr. Clark thinks that he should be able to get Mr.Bendix to agree to the company buying a 20/25 HP R.R. Additionally there is presumably an off-chance that Bendix might like the car sufficiently to take one home with him. Clark asked me if I could do anything with regard to letting Bendix run a 25. R.R. car whilst he was in England. I told him that I would refer the matter to you. Will you please write direct to Clark on the subject and let him know what, if anything, can be done.
