Tappet clearance measurements and an over-run issue for car GLN-60.

With reference to the tappet clearances on the above car, No.6. has been taken up twice and since then has again required adjustment. The following is a record of the tappets as found on the last check, prior to which they were set at .005 clearance:- No.1 - .003 No.2 - .006 No.3 - .004 No.4 - .003 No.5 - .006 No.6 -No clearance, tappet up. No.7 - .004 No.8 - .004 No.9 - .004 No.10- .004. No.11- .006 No.12- .004 There is now an unpleasant over-run from 50 m.p.h. down to about 38. The car has now done nearly 2000 miles since it was left at Derby and I shall be glad to know when you would like me to call apropos of observing the special oil now being used and which has not yet been changed.
