DUNLOP RUBBER CO.,LTD. TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: "DUNLOPS, PHONE, BIRMINGHAM" TELEPHONE: ERDINGTON 2121 (P.B.X) EXTENSION NO: 395. YOUR REF: OUR REF: HEP/LW.550. FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. For the attention of W.A.Robotham, Esq. 7th April, 1936. Dear Sirs, Referring to the writer's telephone conversation today, we would confirm that following Mr. Lambourn's visit we are preparing moulds so that we may have available the original pattern "90" tyres in size 7.00-18 for your Phantom lll chassis. We are engraving the letter "R" on the mould immediately preceding the figures "90" and if, when requisitioning tyres of this size, Dunlop Fort R.{Sir Henry Royce}"90" tyres are specified on your orders, our Despatch Department would be able to ensure that the correct pattern is forwarded. As a suggestion, would you be prepared to mention this nomenclature of the tyre in any service literature, to ensure that your customers obtain suitable replacement tyres. Part of the plant in this size - all of which had been altered to "90/834" - will be modified to the original pattern we hope within a fortnight's time, when supplies of tyres will be immediately available. We understand the 20/25 HP. equipment in size 6.00-19 is under review, but that at the moment you do not wish us to alter our supplies in this section and the Fort "90/834" tyre will continue to be requisitioned. Mr. Lambourn was asked to provide a set of 6.00-18 tyres of the original pattern for test and as all our moulds are not changed to the latest type, a set is being produced immediately and will be despatched, we hope, during this week. | ||
