X.3530 X.2699 MAGNETO DRIVE. We are not entirely satisfied with the fabric coupling type of magneto drive and are pushing on with our tests with the serrated type. Apart from the difficulty of obtaining fabrics which will run truely, we find that we shall also have to alter the fixing of the magneto so that we can adjust the position of the magneto endways, otherwise, we find that the variation in the limits are such that the fabric couplings have to accommodate considerable variation. We find that they do not run satisfactory under this condition. We have lately rather gone off the fabric coupling and shall be reporting shortly on the serrated type which we think will be a more straight-forward job to deal with.
