-2- (6) Clutch Springs & Linings. Whyman will report on the weaker clutch springs to be fitted to the Red Car, together with the VM-20 clutch linings. It may be necessary to make several starts on Green Bank. (7) Stromberg Carburetter. Salt will report on the flooding test on the Stromberg Carburetter. This report should have been issued by the last meeting. (8) Exhaust Valves. Swindall will instruct new exhaust valves of the latest design for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III. (9) Connecting Rod. Swindall will follow up the new design for the strap type connecting rod to make sure that the trouble is catered for (cranks on previous marine rods). (10) Tappets. Swindall will issue a report on the tappet held off the cam on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III. (11) Dashboard Insulation. Whyman will increase the dashboard insulation on the Red Car to the recommendations of Grylls from America. (12) Smith will see that the clutch splines are a good fit on the red car, and also get a figure for the axle backlash. Then report on chunking. (13) Whyman should check up with West the cost of thermo couple type thermometers, and also look into the possibility of fitting a thermometer adaptor which does not allow noise to be transmitted from the head to the instrument board. | ||
