teeth. The suction at the point 'p' indicated in sketch amounts to approximately .100" water but this varies with the position of this point. The other leaks are at the junction of the top and bottom halves of the crankcase. The addition of a paper washer would probably improv this.

OVERHEAD ROCKER - OIL SUPPLY.

The fibre washers used at the two unions connecting the high pressure release oil with the cylinder head, tend to burn. Copper asbestos washers would be an improvement.

CONDITION OF ENGINE AT END OF ENDURANCE TEST.

PISTONS.

No indication of over-oiling. Several rings stuck in slots. Piston pins bearing evenly in piston bosses.

CONNECTING RODS.

Big ends - bad in every case. Indication of poor oil.

CRANKCASE.

Three cylinder holding-down studs loose.

OIL PUMP DRIVE FROM CAMSHAFT.

The fibre washer under spiral pinion was badly burned and the bronze bush indicated that pinion had been bearing heavily upon it.
