Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/R.12/KW. 24th. April, 1934. The Imperial College of Science & Technology, City ' Guilds (Engineering) College, (Appointments Board), Exhibition Road, London, S.W.7. For the attention of Mr. John Walker. Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter of April 23rd, referring to Mr. Mansion. From our point of view 27 is rather old, because in view of the fact that he has had no Automobile experience at all it will take us about three years to teach him the job. During this probationary period we usually pay our assistants £3 to £4 a week. If Mr. Mansion, knowing the circumstances, considers that he would like to apply for the job, we shall be pleased to interview him at any time if he will give us two or three days' notice. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
