16-3-37 REPORT ON RUNNING TEST OF WAKEFIELD'S HI-PRESS EXCESS PRESSURE LUBRICANT. ※ To be attached to Test Report 753.B.(3). ※ A sample of the above mentioned oil was taken from a Wolseley 21. after doing 14,700 miles. (See C.C. Wakefield & Co.'s letter dated 10th March 1937. Ref. W.D.D./A.F.No. 3221). The bearings in the axle were found to be in good condition, and hadbeen adequately lubricated throughout their life, and the oil was in quite suitable condition for further service. On one of the bearings a slight pitt marking in one of the inner tracks was noticed, but this was entirely due to the presence of some hard piece of foreign matter, and was not in any way a mark due to loading, or other sign of failure of the bearing. See our letters to:-- C.C. Wakefield & Co. Ltd. Ref: FOH/AD. 12th March, 1937. Wolseley Motors Ltd. Ref: FOH/AD. 11th March, 1937. Copy of report on residue of oil from the axle (C.C. Wakefield & Co.
