Bentley Chassis [Handwritten signature] Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/STD Thermostatic by-pass control of Water. Secs:5050,5070,5190 Steadman. See me. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/STD.1/AP.10.7.37. We give herewith the factory cost figures as requested for the schemes of the Bentley by-pass water control:- Factory Cost. Scheme LEC.3488 showing the thermostat incorporated in the cylinder water inlet and a by-pass pipe to Water Pump. £2. 8. 0d. Scheme Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}415 also showing the Thermostat incorporated in the cylinder water inlet but with the by-pass pipe connecting to induction pipe and pump. £1. 17. 6d. Scheme Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}415, on comparison with LEC.3488, shows an estimated reduction in factory cost of 10/6d, and to this should be added a further saving of 12/6d. This further saving is due to the deletion of two water connections between the cylinder head and the hot spot, the tapped holes for same and the deletion of the pipe connecting both hot spots to pump, which parts are not required with scheme Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}415. Therefore Scheme Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}415, shows a total saving in factory cost of £1. 3. 0d. G/Rb.{R. Bowen} [Handwritten initials] | ||
