HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From R.{Sir Henry Royce} HL. c. to BJ: Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} (5060 R1/M11.6.28. VALVE STEELS. X.1474 T.5060 X.3822 X.3060 X.4587 I think the nearest and quickest way to find out the best valve steel is to test valves in an engine on the gx test bed. I understand the steels suggested are Firth's (Nickel-Chrome-Tungsten) K.K. ditto, and present E.L.V. If they all stand I suggest that the sections of the head be made lighter until they overheat or stretch. Will Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} get this done without delay, and so dispose of a matter that is costing money in time and thought etc. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
