Re Snow Chains.

We have checked the new pattern of snow chain and find that the chain stands off the tyre a distance of approx. 3/4". We should prefer a little more than the extra half an inch which you propose giving, to allow for chain slack.

We give below the tyre to mudguard clearances of our present Experimental Phantom lll cars. :-

Distance from Wing tip to Tyre.

32-EX O.S. 1 1/4" N.S. 2 1/4".
36-EX O.S. 2 1/4" N.S. 1 3/4".
37-EX O.S. 2 1/4" N.S. 1 3/4".
