(3) Now set relation of the copper and carbon arms by placing an .040" distance piece between the first to make copper contacts and adjusting the carbons to be just in contact when these copper contacts are just in contact with the distance piece.

(4) Now adjust the stop of the main switch lever so that in the fully off position the carbon contact gap is .025 + 5.

Except in the case of (1), the adjustments above refer to the main switch portion of the unit and enable this unit to be first adjusted correctly. The following adjustments refer to the auxiliary switch unit.

(5) The adjustment of the height of the fixed top silver contact of the relay switch is in the first adjustment on this switch. This contact should be adjusted so that there is a clearance of .015 + 3 between the main switch lever side arm and the bakelite packing piece, when both levers are in their off positions. As in (1) when both levers are in their fully down positions there is .010 + 2 clearance, therefore the stroke of the relay switch lever on the pole centre line is .005 + 3 -2 less than that of the main lever.

(6) The carbon contacts of the relay switch should next be adjusted so that the gap at the silver contacts is .020 ± 3 when the carbon contacts are just breaking.

(7) The final adjustment refers to that of the gap of the lower contacts. This should be adjusted to be
