1256 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}19/ML. 4.3.40. L. Pomeroy, Esq., "The Motor" Bowling Green Lane, London. E.C.1. Dear Pomeroy, Thank you for your letter of the 23rd. February. I must apologize for the delay in answering, but this was due to some delay in obtaining certain curves for you, which I enclose. They show the difference between Aerolite and our own split skirt type of piston. These curves were taken some 5 years ago and the results are not entirely applicable to present day conditions. Where a similar type of cam-grinding is applied to the split skirt piston the power it absorbs can be reduced. As a matter of fact, today there is very little difference between the power absorbed by these two pistons as they are now being produced. - Continued - | ||
