Progress report on front damper replacement and adjustments to front pivot clearances.

On Saturday morning I replaced both front dampers reset to 100 LBS each way O.K. On examination of the side tube the front end was found to be O.K. to limits & the rear end set up a little more than called for. This I replaced as before on the car.
I then had the front pivots dismantled & discovered excessive end play; this amounted to .041" on the near side & .048" on the off side.
I am reducing these clearances with packing pieces .035" & .040" respectively.
The correct clearance is .005" to .015".
The cross tube & track toe-in have not as yet been checked by me.
