"and we always specify them when we know that
"a Torpedo body is being fitted, and we
"strongly recommend that you request this
"type to be fitted to the cars you order
"if you consider that they meet with your
"requirements.
"If, however, a customer insists on
"the 'set in' type then the difficulty may
"be overcome by setting the change gear lever
"in ½" and the brake lever out 1", thus
"increasing the distance between the levers
"by 1½". This procedure is often done but
"we prefer whenever possible that customers
"use the set out type of levers.
"If you wish to alter the levers on a
"car already delivered and about which the
"customer seriously complains, we shall be
"pleased to send you levers specially bent
"as stated above, and when you have fitted
"these the old levers may be returned to us.
"If you will kindly notify us on
"future orders we shall be pleased to see
"that whatever you instruct in this respect
