BJ. from EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} X4086 RE. GOSHAWK 10,000 MILES TEST CARS. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}1/LG23.3.22. X4086 X3730 CJ. now instructs that the fourth car i.e. 7-Goshawk-11. which was originally intended to be used for one of the three 10,000 miles test cars to be run by Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} is now to be allotted for the Amateur Car. It was also originally intended that a Saloon body made by Maythorn, Biggleswade. I take it that it is now your intention that this chassis should be fitted with the body prepared for the Amateur Test Car. Please supply us with particulars of the body and whether the chassis should be altered to suit this body, if necessary. The chassis at present is a "D" steering but with fairly heavy road springs for a heavy enclosed body and it is doubtful whether we should be able to fix on any weaker springs unless the chassis is to be considerably delayed in order to obtain such springs. - but will do so if possible. It is our intention to deliver this chassis early next month. I should be glad if you will let us know what is your proposed programme so that, as far as possible, we can keep within the time required, but take full advantage of the maximum available time we can have for preparing this chassis.
