Reliability and noise issues of Jaeger speedometers compared to the A.T. speedometer.

X4386 With reference to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/W26.1.28. We have in the past tested Jaeger speedometers. One objection to them was that they were noisy; the clock mechanism was the cause of this. There are too many bits compared with the A.T. consequently they ought not to be so reliable. We consider that we have got the A.T. speedometer to a reasonable state of reliability and we should be rather reluctant to change to a new type of speedometer. Unless therefore there has been a very radical improvement in the Jaeger speedometer, we do not think it would be useful for us to re-test them. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
