Re: Speedometers.

We have recently been approached by the Jaeger Company with a view to the adoption of their Speedometers.

We understand that the Bentley Company have recently decided to change over to it instead of the A.T. and it is also standardised by various other Manufacturers, the most important of which are Daimler and Sunbeam.

We also understand that the Prince of Wales has been using Jaeger Speedometers for some time and had one fitted to his recent 'Phantom' and that Major Seagrave selected one for his record breaking performance last year.

The principle is chrono metric. The speed of the shaft is 1609 to the mile, whereas we understand we run at somewhere about 720. This would therefore mean the introduction of a little gearbox unless we altered our ratio which Bentley's have done in order to enable them to standardise this instrument.

The appearance of the instrument is attractive as is also the price.

If you agree that we ought to investigate and test this instrument, the first step will be to arrange for one of their representatives to come up to Derby in order to see you, discuss the matter and give any technical information required.

Pamphlet is enclosed which gives a certain amount of interesting information.
