characteristics. De Ram claims that a damper weighing 14 lbs can carry up to 3 tons on the end of a 10" lever.
The piston supplying the quantity of oil and thus loading the friction discs is operated by a cam of any required shape.
The adjustments are:-
(a) shape of the cam.
(b) Size of oil release orifice.
(c) Effective area applying load on the friction disc.
(b) Number of friction disc.
At the moment the damper is only made in one main size, but the same damper can be used for a locomotive or a touring car.
People at the moment trying them include Mercedes - P. Wagens - Alfa-Romeo - Bugatti.
