DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

FOR ATTENTION OF MR. HIVES.

In conversation with our Mr. Ingram recently on the subject of your tests of "NEW PROCESS" Engine Oil we learned that you have a strong preference for Engine Oils compounded with 5% or 10% of fatty matter. Although it is not our practice to compound "NEW PROCESS" Oils in this way we would take the opportunity to mention that we wish first and foremost to meet your requirements and that if you are of opinion that a certain percentage of fatty matter is desirable we would not hesitate to supply whatever you may ask. Our reason for not compounding "NEW PROCESS" Oil is that we have not found the increase in lubricating efficiency so produced sufficient to counterbalance the increased tendency to carbonise. The object of this note, however, is to assure you that we have no desire to dogmatise and if you wish to test compounded "NEW PROCESS" Oil we trust you will let us know.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ALEXANDER DUCKHAM & CO. LTD.
