Y4003 Hg. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RMC. BY12/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 3.3.20 RECEIVED ROLLS ROYCE F.10. ENGINE. ------------------------ With reference to the special cam forms to work with roller-less tappet levers, whilst apparently we received a valve lift curve from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town for the inlet, we were not able to produce the complete cam working on the information which E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} had conveyed, therefore it has meant that we have had to re-calculate the valve lift curve entirely, as we had not got E's formula. The one we have produced, whilst it gives practically similar results, slight differences do occur, and it is not possible, therefore, to fill in certain cam positions by our method when E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has supplied say 50%. Calculations have also to be made for the cam form itself, and we shall complete the inlet cam to-day. We have also produced the exhaust valve lift curve and the cam form will be completed early next week. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
