S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}..from PN.{Mr Northey} [Strikethrough] Copy to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} [Strikethrough] +7960 PN.{Mr Northey}2/WT24.1.30. 29-WJ. With regard to the springing of this car which has been strongly criticised on sundry occasions by enquirers to whom a demonstration run on the car has been given, we quite understand that it would not be reasonable to expect the same degree of comfort with this car as in the case of 1-WJ, in which the rear seats are altogether further forward. We are expecting to have 29-WJ back from you at once not improved in any way in view of the importance of not having two demonstration cars unavailable at the same time. When however, we return this car to you later on I anticipate that a considerable improvement to the springing comfort may be achieved by putting the springs of this car through what I think you call the "Education Process" - hailing from U.S.A., whereby the springs are set up on a rig and ground into as perfect a condition of absence of damping as is possible.
