contd :- -2- deeper groove would do the job. (d) The clearances allowed are not sufficient to allow easy manipulation of the carrier. The minimum clearances at D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} must not be less than .010", - this is made necessary by slight variation in the wheel dimensions, the hub width varies slightly from wheel to wheel so that the bracket P. does not face up truly to the hub cap and is twisted over square when the wheel is tightened into position. The clearance at G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} must be increased to .020" minimum to allow of reasonably easy wheel mounting. (e) The position of the dummy hub relative to the bracket P. should be engraved for the 'lock' and release position. It would also be an advantage to limit the movement of the dummy hub to the 90° through which it must be turned to lock or release the wheel. This could conveniently be done by a peg in the dummy hub H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} which would work in a 90° slot in the bracket P. (f) The spring locking device for the bar which carries the number plate will have to be enclosed, it will otherwise become filled with mud and water very quickly. It is a pity that so many parts are necessary to carry a number plate. If other means of doing this could be found, the limit of travel of the swivelling bracket P. could be fixed by circumferential stops on the rear cross member.
