The low speed figures with and without the leak were as follows:-
Minimum speed for regular sparking on 5.5 m/m gaps in air:-
Advance 135 rpm
Retard 120 rpm
with the std leak and annular test gap the minimum retarded figure was 250 rpm.
The E06 production specification limits of low speed performance are:-
Advance 280 rpm
Retard 190 rpm.
It appears therefore that the EW6 type magneto has insufficient energy at low speeds to satisfy
