To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/KT.30.11.33.

1st VULTURE CHASSIS.

Herewith particulars of the exhaust system for the 1st Vulture chassis.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1223 shows the inside parts to be used for the system shown on LeC.3639.

(1) The middle silencer shown on LeC.3639 should not be used on the first car - the intermediate pipe is carried right through from the front box to the main silencer with a joint at some convenient place.

(2) The downtake pipe, front expansion box and intermediate pipe should be in Staybright and lagged.

(3) The same gauge materials should be used as on standard P.II.

(4) Suspension - front box stayed to crankcase. Four suspension points where system passes under cross members using spring suspension throughout as on the Bentley.

(5) Cut-Out - We should like to arrange a Bentley cut-out on the intermediate pipe.

(6) We want to use a 2.25" dia. tail pipe with no fish-tail, on the lines of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}789-790 (LeC.3639 shows a 2.00" tail-pipe), but round throughout its length. The type of silencer swan-neck outlet shown on Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}789-90 should be used.
