AHP/01438. 28th. March 1938. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Royce. Further to our letter of the 25th. inst. we experience interference from your Automatic Voltage Control on your Phantom lll cars, and to overcome this difficuly we remove the shield wire from the dynamo to the fuse-box, i.e. the white wire with black tracer, and replace it with a 5mm. shielded wire, earthing the shielding at each end. We also fit a condenser on the positive of the dynamo to earth. This arrangement cures the trouble, and we feel certain it will be necessary for you to adopt this arrangement.
