To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. BJ6/H28.4.23. X3730 GOSHAWK SALOON BODY. Re M3/M26.4.23, to me. Do you think this memorandum was written before Mr. Royce had finished discussing the whole question of bodies with you? - as I was under the impression that he decided to have a saloon body for his own use. It is of course unfortunate that he went to so much trouble considering the design of a body which we had all agreed was wrong in design and was not one of our standards. Doubtless if he had seen one of our standard bodies his opinion would have been different. Do you think that Mr. Royce's idea would be to have a body with only two doors in it, one at the back and the other at the front, and that a passenger who wished to sit in the back might have to walk round the car, and get in out in the road? (Of course one cannot depend on the car always arriving at the pavement with the door on the pavement side.) B.J. | ||
