Induction Systems.
-----------------

Further to our conversations of yesterday we should be pleased if you would do tests on a single down draught carburetter with the throttle parallel with, and at right angles to the induction pipe.

We should also be pleased if you would conduct tests with the throttle spindle parallel to the induction pipe, and the throttle in one case opening in a clockwise direction looking from the front of the engine, and in the other case in a counterclockwise direction, to simulate the difference which will exist between the two banks of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III engine when fitted with two down draught carburetters of the same hand.

The down draught induction systems which we are at present designing have the floor of themixing chamber flush with the out-going induction pipes. However, the induction system which is on test on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III has this floor level below the induction pipe outlet leaving a well.

We should be pleased if you would do some tests on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III to check that this well is unnecessary.
