Dear Sirs,

Motor Brake Linings.

We are glad to hear that you have an asbestos-resin-artifial rubber lining as a standard product, coefficient about 0.33 - 0.35. We should like to know its name.

The first samples we want, as soon as possible, are two pieces GB.751, undrilled. These will be tested on a rig which enables us to weed out the most unsuitable linings before we go to the considerable expense of fitting to, and testing on a car.

Assuming it is satisfactory on the rig we will order sufficient material for two cars.

Payment can only be made by us after an official order has been issued, so as soon as you tell us the name of the lining we can see that this is done for the two pieces GB.751, but we suggest that there is no need for you to delay their manufacture until you receive it.

At a later date we shall have to discuss costs on a production basis.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.

P.S. We enclose prints of brake lining pieces required for car, if samples satisfactory.
