We thank you for your letter of the 9th instant, and for the particulars which you have been good enough to give us, which are very interesting to us. The writer will most certainly break his journey at Derby when next he is going North. We note the types of linings which you have tried, some of which are similar to those we manufacture, but we also manufacture others which differ from them. We do not manufacture an asbestos rubber lining, but we were particularly interested in your remark regarding a liner bonded with resin and rubber. We manufacture some which are bonded with resin and artificial rubber, with a co-efficient almost exactly as that mentioned in your letter. Two linings which we manufacture of this type have been very successful for several years, and are widely used. Regarding graphite, the difficulty here is the danger of its use in a Works of this description. It is difficult to confine, and has a habit of getting on material where it is not wanted. If you would like to test either of our liners, we would be very pleased to forward them to you, if you would be good enough to send us particulars of your sizes. Yours faithfully, HUBERT H.P. TRIST & COMPANY. p.p. B.E.Draper. | ||
