To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer}

X.4383 - RE GOSHAWK DYNAMOS.

We have sent in to you Goshawk dynamo No.562 which is the one that has been removed from a chassis in the Test Dept. on the score of noisiness, and is to be investigated by us.

Will you kindly have this dynamo fitted to 3-GII temporarily. the dynamo belonging to that car being with us at the moment for test, of its new brush gear which you have just fitted.

We wish to determine whether the noise is the same on 3-GII as observed on the production chassis, and also to make other experiments with a view to finding out if possible the cure for this noisiness, a possible direction for which has been indicated by the results noted this morning.
