To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/KW.24.9.40. [Handwritten: Barnato car] [Handwritten: c Spring] [Handwritten: 261K] re B-V Front Springs. Referring to what Capt. Barnato said the other day about the front springs bumping badly, I was wondering whether there was anything we could do to help. I gather from Lp.{Mr Lappin} that this happens on the car he is using, but not to any serious extent. Lp.{Mr Lappin} said that possibly on Barnato's car it was bumping in such a way that it was a metal-to-metal bump instead of on the rubbers. I did not remember that this was a particular trouble with any of the Experimental B-V cars that I have tried, and if we can do anything to help Barnato, via Hythe Road or any other way, I should certainly like to do so.
