HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} ~~E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}~~) (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) C. to BJ. WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} R4/M29.12.27. REC'D & DESPATCHED FROM WW. 2. 1. 28. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. 7. ALUM: ENGINE, TURBULENT HIGH COMPRESSION 5 TO 1, RUBBER SUSPENSION. [Handwritten:] X7770 X7005 X7080 So far good, but with French petrol it detonates at slow speed, our carburetter being so good as to always give correct mixture. At the moment the engine has pre-ignitions with both ignitions on, and mis-fires with either singly at about 10 MPH. I believe it is mutual induction for the former, and oxidised plugs causing the latter. R.{Sir Henry Royce} [Stamped: ORIGINAL] [Stamped: RECEIVED with a clock face] | ||
